

Maura Johnston
Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor
Maura is an integrative therapist who aligns with person-centered and attachment-based principles and integrates family systems work and selected behavioral approaches. She is dedicated to creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel secure, seen, and supported in exploring their authentic selves. Maura values integrating evidence-informed practices to help clients meet their individualized therapeutic goals and thoughtfully incorporates play, sand tray, and nature-based interventions to address behavioral and interpersonal challenges.

Maura has worked across a variety of settings, including individual and group therapeutic services, teaching, and coaching. Her specialties include supporting clients with trauma, adjustment challenges, attachment disruptions, emotional regulation difficulties, ADHD, autism, behavioral challenges, interpersonal difficulties, and mood and anxiety disorders.

Maura holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Professional Counseling from Loyola University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with double minors in Human Development and Business, from the University of Maryland. She is currently practicing under the supervision of Dr. Courtney Glickman and is actively working toward certification as a Registered Play Therapist.
