Lyra Tomljanovich, MA
Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor
Lyra takes an integrative approach to therapy, grounded in person-centered and family systems frameworks, while incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and a strengths-based perspective. In addition, she uses mindfulness, play therapy, expressive arts, and nature-based interventions to support clients in accessing their internal resources and expanding emotional awareness. Lyra’s work is informed by attachment theory and trauma-responsive practices, recognizing the profound impact of early relational experiences and overwhelming events on emotional regulation, identity, and relationships. She helps clients build safety and trust in the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for healing and growth. She works with children, adolescents, and adults on issues related to attachment wounds, trauma, emotion regulation, interpersonal relationships, ADHD, eating disorders, and identity development.
Lyra has provided therapeutic support in a range of settings including private practice and community mental health programs, allowing her to work with diverse populations across age groups and presenting concerns. She has experience providing individual, group, and family-focused treatment, and is passionate about helping clients deepen their connection to self and others through curiosity, reflection, and empowerment. Lyra is committed to creating a warm, affirming, and safe space where clients feel seen and supported as they explore their inner world and build on their natural strengths.

Lyra earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The George Washington University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies from Boston University. She is currently practicing under the supervision of Dr. Courtney Glickman and is working toward certification as a Registered Play Therapist and Registered Expressive Arts Therapist.
