Internship and Practicum Program
The Collective Healing Center offers a strong clinical experience for students and takes pride in being able to support up-and-coming psychotherapists on their journey to becoming licensed providers. Our program is set up so that as you progress, you’ll move from shadowing to building your own independent caseload. In addition to providing comprehensive mental health treatment to a weekly caseload of 4-12 clients (caseload varies depending on practicum vs. internship), interns are required to complete clinical documentation, networking and community engagement work, social media and blogging, monthly education, and other weekly indirect work as assigned.
The Collective Healing Center is unique in that we offer in-office, telehealth, walk & talk, and outdoor play therapy. As a large part of our population served are children, we are looking for an intern that has an interest in working with children and adolescents. Specialized training and experience in play therapy and expressive modalities (e.g. sand tray, art, movement) will be a significant part of your skill building throughout our program. We provide weekly individual supervision, and monthly staff meetings. While supervision and meetings are mandatory, other hours are flexible and negotiable. Please note that when working with children and adolescents there is a preference to be seen after school or on weekends and in person.
Along with training future clinicians, our internship program allows us to offer therapy services to the community at a significantly reduced rate, making clinical services available to clients who might not otherwise readily afford such treatment. Direct supervision of our clinical interns allows them to build your skills while providing high-quality, cost-effective treatment to clients.
Intern expectations include: the intention to commit to spending at least two semesters with The Collective Healing Center; a flexible schedule so that the intern can be available for ample learning time; a commitment of 20-25 hours a week dedicated to your internship; strong work ethic and ability to be teachable/accept feedback; have an interest in the population we serve; be ready to work, learn and grow; and an understanding that this is a critical time of professional development and learning as it is the only time in a clinician’s career that they will have such an abundance of hands on training. Professional conduct, self-accountability, and maturity is of utmost importance.
All interns are under the direct supervision of our Clinical Director, Dr. Courtney Glickman, PhD, LCPC, RPT. If you would like to be considered for an internship position, please email your resume, cover letter, and two references to: cglickman@thecollectivehealingcenter.com.
