"I believe children thrive when they are given the space to communicate in their own way and are supported for who they are—not asked to become someone different. My goal is to help each child feel capable, connected, and confident while helping families recognize and build upon the strengths already within them."

Sabrina's Healing Philosophy

Sabrina provides compassionate, collaborative therapy for children, adolescents, and their families. She creates a flexible and welcoming environment where young people can communicate in ways that feel natural to them, build confidence, and develop skills for navigating emotions, relationships, and everyday challenges.

Sabrina supports children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, mood-related concerns, emotional dysregulation, ADHD, autism, behavioral challenges, and co-occurring mental health needs. She also has experience supporting individuals and families during high-risk and crisis situations, providing calm, holistic, and client-centered care tailored to each child’s strengths and needs.

Sabrina is deeply committed to neurodiversity-affirming care that recognizes neurological differences as a natural part of human diversity. Rather than focusing only on changing behavior, she seeks to understand what a child may be communicating through their emotions, actions, sensory responses, and individual way of interacting with the world. Her work may include honoring sensory needs, providing communication accommodations, supporting autonomy, and helping children advocate for what they need.

Recognizing that caregivers are essential partners in a child’s healing, Sabrina works collaboratively with families to strengthen connection, increase understanding, and build resilience. She strives to create a safe and accessible therapeutic space grounded in cultural humility, where children and caregivers from all backgrounds feel respected, included, and actively involved in the therapeutic process.

Sabrina uses an integrative approach tailored to each client’s developmental, learning, sensory, and communication needs. She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) while incorporating play therapy and expressive arts interventions. By offering multiple ways to participate and express themselves, Sabrina helps children engage in therapy without relying solely on spoken conversation.

As a Latina therapist, Sabrina values the ways culture, identity, family, and community shape each client’s experiences. She is committed to providing inclusive care that honors the whole person and helps children and families build upon the strengths they already possess.

Sabrina earned her master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California and her bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland. She practices under the supervision of Clare Bubniak and is actively working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist.
