Work with Jill
Jill's Healing Philosophy
Jill provides a warm, accepting, and nonjudgmental environment where children, adolescents, and young adults can feel safe being themselves. She understands that beginning therapy can feel unfamiliar or vulnerable and prioritizes building a trusting relationship in which each client feels genuinely heard, respected, and supported.
Jill works with clients experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, identity-related concerns, and difficult life transitions. She is particularly passionate about supporting clients as they develop a stronger understanding of themselves, build confidence, and learn practical tools for navigating challenges with greater resilience.
Her approach is integrative, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s individual needs, strengths, and goals. Grounded in person-centered and trauma-informed care, Jill incorporates play therapy, expressive arts, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and mindfulness-based techniques. These approaches allow clients to explore their experiences through conversation, creativity, play, and body-based awareness, depending on what feels most comfortable and helpful to them.
Jill is committed to providing affirming care for LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent clients. She creates space for clients to explore identity, relationships, and lived experiences without judgment while helping them recognize the strengths and qualities that make them unique.
When working with children and adolescents, Jill values partnering with parents and caregivers throughout the therapeutic process. She helps caregivers better understand their child’s emotions, behaviors, and needs while offering guidance that can strengthen connection and support continued progress at home.
Jill earned her bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina and her Master of Education in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University. She practices under the supervision of Dr. Courtney Glickman and is actively working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist.
