Work with Didi
Didi's Healing Philosophy
Didi provides a warm, playful, and accepting space where children and teens can feel safe being themselves. She understands that behaviors often communicate needs that young people may not yet have the words to express. Through curiosity and connection, Didi helps clients better understand their emotions, develop practical coping skills, and feel more confident navigating everyday challenges.
Didi works with children, adolescents, and families experiencing anxiety, trauma, adjustment difficulties, emotional dysregulation, behavioral concerns, attachment disruptions, and relationship challenges. She has particular expertise in supporting neurodivergent children and teens, including those with ADHD and autism, who may struggle with big emotions, transitions, sensory needs, social relationships, or feeling misunderstood.
As a certified AutPlay® Therapy provider, Didi uses a play- and relationship-based approach to support the emotional regulation, social functioning, and relational needs of neurodivergent children and their families. She also integrates play therapy, expressive arts, and nature-based experiences, allowing clients to communicate and process feelings in ways that feel natural and developmentally appropriate.
Didi believes caregivers are important partners in the therapeutic process. She helps parents better understand what their child may be communicating through behavior and offers supportive, practical strategies that can strengthen connection and create greater calm and confidence at home. Her approach is affirming, strengths-based, trauma-responsive, and tailored to each client’s unique developmental and neurobiological needs.
Didi’s experience includes providing in-home services, facilitating after-school programs, offering parent coaching, and working in outpatient therapy settings. She draws from person-centered, family systems, narrative, and attachment-based approaches to support meaningful and lasting growth.
Didi earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The George Washington University and her bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in Honors Interdisciplinary Studies, from James Madison University. She practices under the supervision of Dr. Courtney Glickman and is actively working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist.
